Built on our proven modem architecture, the PMM4511 combines powerful communication features, onboard processing, and a slim form factor designed for easy integration into AUVs, scientific instruments, and custom systems.
At just 173 × 38 × 28 mm and weighing 170 g, the PMM4511 is engineered for applications where space and power are limited, but reliable performance is essential.
Powerful Acoustic Comms in a Small Package
The PMM4511 delivers the same advanced capabilities you can expect from the latest generation of Popoto Modems, now in a compact package:
- Flexible Data Rates – From 80 bps (FH-FSK) for long-range reliability up to 10,240 bps (PSK) for high-speed links.
- Onboard Processing – A 1.4 GHz Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor running Debian Linux supports custom applications and automation.
- Versatile Interfacing – Connections via Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422, SPI, I²C, GPIO, and analog, plus APIs in Python, MATLAB®, C++, JSON, JACK, and MARIA.
- Robust Data Logging – Store PCM data in baseband or passband to 32 GB of onboard storage, expandable with microSD (up to 1.5 TB+), or stream via TCP/IP.
- Low Power Modes – Sub-watt receive power and acoustic wake-up make the modem ideal for long-duration deployments.
- Accurate Ranging – Achieve <0.3 m precision in underwater positioning.
- Optional Advanced Security – Phorcys Stheno licensing adds encrypted networking capabilities for secure operations.
New Option Available: Wide Voltage Range
The PMM4511 is available in two configurations to fit different system needs:
- PMM4511 – Standard voltage range (14–40 V). Starting at $2,750.00.
- PMM4511WV – Wide voltage range (8.5–40 V) for added flexibility. Starting at $3,250.00.
The wide-voltage variant is especially useful for low-voltage battery systems, where operating at reduced input voltage can lower overall power draw, extending deployment time and improving efficiency in long-duration missions.
